I finally got my camera last night! UPS made it an adventure to actually get the camera in my hands, but I’m very happy with it now.
I have never owned any type of advanced cameras before, so this is going to take a lot of getting used to. There are so many settings on this thing and expensive pieces on it. I’m used to just pointing and shooting with my iPhone. There are a lot of automatic options, but I’m trying to legitimately learn how to use this thing.
Last night I played around with the camera a little bit, trying to figure out what the aperture, f stop, ISO, and all of this other stuff meant. Still, I have no clue what most of it is, but I’m learning!
This morning I had to try it out on my breakfast to get started on some food photography, and what better thing to take a picture of than my 7 day a week meal…bacon and eggs.

Obviously there is a learning curve on this, and I definitely think I am going to need a better lens and a tripod ASAP. How did I do though? I personally think its leagues better than the iPhone pictures that I’m used to getting.
